Tell Disney to help end slavery in Minnesota

Right now, Minnesotans are earning 90¢ per hour folding balloons showcasing one of the world's most recognizable brands: Disney. Despite the corporation's 2022 Modern Slavery Statement and its Supply Chain Code of Conduct, Disney continues to profit from coerced prison labor under a subcontract with Anagram International LLC, right here in the North Star State.

Nearly 800 incarcerated people in Minnesota's prisons are experiencing this ongoing exploitation because under Article 1, Section 2 of Minnesota's Constitution slavery is legal as punishment for a crime. Disney has the opportunity and moral responsibility to not only investigate it's own subcontractor but help ensure that no family, no child, has to endure the harms of modern-day slavery.

The call to Disney is clear:

  • require Anagram to renegotiate its contract to ensure incarcerated workers in Minnesota receive at least the state's minimum wage and

  • endorse the campaign to End Slavery in Minnesota.
